There are many reasons to support the Idaho Trappers Association. Many people think we are just here to give you a great quarterly magazine, two fur sales, a fantastic Summer convention and a great Fall fundraiser banquet.
Really we are here to promote, educate, and protect trapping in Idaho. Your funds go to a variety of things.
Really we are here to promote, educate, and protect trapping in Idaho. Your funds go to a variety of things.
- The ITA attends several sportsmen shows each year and has a booth to educate about trapping. We attend various banquets to support other organizations and show that ITA is willing to work with other groups. We put on several trap release clinics at various dog events to work with dog owners.
- The ITA board attends every Fish and Game commission meeting to make sure that we have a voice at all events. ITA assists with fish and game trapper education classes and also helps at various schools teaching trapping during Idaho History month.
- Lastly we hired a lawyer and defended and won the lynx lawsuit. (started in 2014 and was just dismissed in early 2018) We are stockpiling banquet money in case we need it for another anti-trapping attack.
- The ITA staff are fully volunteers who are passionate about trapping. We do this on our own time and the funds we collect through donations and membership dues go directly toward funding our cause, not into our pockets!
